Description	:	Funeral services were held for Alex Miller, Monday afternoon at Friedens Evangelical and Reformed Church. Rev. Elmer Otte officiated at the services. Burial was made in Morgan Township Cemetery, Schleswig. Alex William Miller was born July 22, 1892 in Otter Creek Township, Crawford County, Iowa, the son of Hans and Katherine (Jochimsen) Miller. He lived his entire life around Schleswig. He married Amelia Petersen on December 22, 1915 in Schleswig and farmed in the Schleswig area, until retiring in 1944, and moved to Schleswig. Burial was made in Morgan Township Cemetery, Schleswig. Alex William Miller was born July 22, 1892 in Otter Creek Township, Crawford County, Iowa, the son of Hans and Katherine (Jochimsen) Miller. He lived his entire life around Schleswig. He married Amelia Petersen on December 22, 1915 in Schleswig and farmed in the Schleswig area, until retiring in 1944, and moved to Schleswig. Alex was taken ill last spring and seemed to be fully recovered. However, on September 3, he underwent an operation at Sioux City. On October 13, he returned to the hospital for another operation, from which he never recovered and died on October 23. He is survived by his wife, Amelia; one daughter, Mrs. Eldred (Marcella) Gronau; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Emil (Mamie) Kuehl and Mrs. Robert (Hilda) Jepsen of Omaha, Nebr.; and two brothers, Charley Miller of Mapleton and Robert Miller of Denison.
