Description	:	9-19-1914, The Otoe Union: Alexander Paap was born September 5, 1871 on his father's homestead 4 miles northeast of Berlin. Here he spent childhood's happy days and grew to manhood obtaining his education at the district school near his home. On March 4, 1897 he was united in marriage to Miss Nora Lenker and lived with her in happiness until the day of his death. After suffering about ten days with typhoid fever, he departed this life just before daybreak, Thursday, September 10, 1914, having attained the age of 43 years, and five days. Here he spent childhood's happy days and grew to manhood obtaining his education at the district school near his home. On March 4, 1897 he was united in marriage to Miss Nora Lenker and lived with her in happiness until the day of his death. After suffering about ten days with typhoid fever, he departed this life just before daybreak, Thursday, September 10, 1914, having attained the age of 43 years, and five days. There remain to mourn his departure, his wife and daughter, Mable, his mother, two brothers, Omar and Albert, and two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Davis and Mrs. Chas. Miller. His father preceded him several years ago and one sister died when a mere child. He has been a resident of Berlin since September 1913 when he retired from the farm. The tornado of last year destroyed all his farm buildings and his Berlin residence and he had rebuilt them all in anticipation of spending the rest of his life in quiet and comfort when he was suddenly called away.
