Description	:	Boone County Democrat May 20, 1910 Alexander McKenna, the miner whose serious injury was mentioned last week passed away at the hospital about 1:00 o’clock Thursday afternoon, without regaining consciousness. It seems that he was walking to his home west of the city Wednesday night along the Northwestern right of way. He was quite deaf and it is presumed that he was struck by a passing train which he did not hear approaching, and was thrown into the ditch, where he was later discovered by a couple of boys and was brought to the hospital Thursday morning. The funeral services were held from the Sacred Heart church at 10:00 o’clock Saturday morning, conducted by Father Barron, and the remains laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. Alexander Andrew McKenna was born in Cambray county, Pennsylvania, August 14, 1861. He came to Boone county in 1874 and resided at Zenorville for about ten years. He then came to Boone and engaged in mining, which occupation he has followed for the past twenty five years. He never married and his parents are both dead. He is survived by two brothers, Peter, of Pennsylvania and Edward of Boone, and four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Duncan of High Bridge, Mrs. Mary Kelley of Boone, Mrs. Jennie Fellows and Mrs. Sarah Heaps of Logansport. He was of a quiet unassuming nature and was highly esteemed by all who knew him.
