Read More	He Died at the Age of 85 Alexander Galbreath Passed Away Early Monday Morning Alexander Galbreath died at his home some distance northeast of Emmetsburg Monday morning at four o'clock after an illness of seven weeks' duration. His death was due chiefly to old age, as he was in his eighty-fifth year. The funeral will be held today. Services will be conducted at the Congregational church and the burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Galbreath was born in the county of Donegal, Ireland, eighty-five years ago. He came to the United States about the year 1865 and located to Illinois where he remained for four or five years. Later he moved to Lucas county, this state, where he lived for perhaps twelve years, after which he became a resident of Shelby county, spending ten years in that locality. In the spring of 1891 he moved to Palo Alto county and located on a farm some distance northeast of Emmetsburg. Mr. Galbreath was married at some point in Illinois soon after he came to this country, to Miss Ann Patterson, who, with one son, Robert Galbreath and one daughter, Mrs. Andrew Adams, survives him. Another daughter, Mrs. John Drew, died a number of years ago. Mr. Galbreath was a citizen of whose sterling worth any community might well be full proud. He was quiet and unassuming but he was exemplary, frugal and high minded. His friends and associates gave him credit for sincerity, uprightness and firmness. His son and daughter have inherited his redeeming qualities and they have, during their residence in this community, grown steadily in the esteem of all who have had an opportunity of knowing them intimately. Mr. Galbreath lived to a ripe old age and he passed away conscious that he had done his duty in life as a husband, father and citizen.
