Read More	With an abundance of gratitude for his life and sadness at their loss, the family of Alexander “Alex” James Goodman announces his passing on June 2, 2020 in Brandon, Manitoba at the age of 77 years. Alex’s life began on January 3, 1943. He was born in Swan River, Manitoba to the late Ted and Gwen Goodman. He was raised in the Swan River Valley and received his education in Benito, Manitoba and Swan River. Alex was a very social man and a hard worker. He was a bit of a jack of all trades because during his working life he tried his hand at many things. His love of meeting new people was very much a part of his work history since it enabled him to do that. During the 60s, Alex worked in sales at King Motors. He worked all across Canada, eventually ending up in B.C. The majority of Alex’s career years were spent in Manitoba. For a while he had a Ford Dealership in Roblin, Manitoba. He enjoyed the years he spent dairy and grain farming. Alex was the creator of The Battery House in Swan River and decided to sell the business. He moved to Winnipeg and worked for Chisick Metal. Following that he created a company called A & M Goodman Investments which was later sold to Urban Mine. Not only did Alex tour most of Canada – his work years also lead him to parts of the States. He was very proud of his career and all of the friends he was able to make along the way. Due to health concerns, Alex retired in 2016-2017. As an avid sports fan Alex took a special interest in hockey, curling and baseball. He was a coach for baseball and hockey to the youth boys in Benito during his younger years. Alex had season tickets to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and attended most of their games until his health failed but he was so thrilled to watch his Bombers win the Grey Cup on TV in 2019. With his love of hockey and baseball it was no wonder that you could always find him watching the Jets games and Winnipeg Goldeyes games. Curling was definitely Alex’s passion and he tried his hand at competitive curling. His nick name was “4 Foot.” He truly enjoyed watching and attending many Briers, Worlds and Olympic trials. He kept busy with his love of broadcasted sporting events and liked to go biking at the Assiniboine Park. Alex loved an adventure and travelling to hot destinations was dear to him. He was able to see Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Florida and Hawaii. It was a special treat to swim in the ocean. The most treasured trip that Alex went on was to Korea where he spent time with his son, Chris, daughter-in-law, Mijin and grandson, Teddy. When Alex was home, he spent many hours visiting on Skype with them. Alex is survived by his wife, Jane Goodman (nee Mazuren); his son, Chris (Mijin); step daughter, Denise (Rob); step son, Dean (Donna); grandson, Teddy; step-grandson, Samuel and step-granddaughter, Karma; brothers, Murray (Joanne) and Brian (Susanne); sister, Sandra; sisters-in-law, Judy, Joyce, Debby, Bev and Dixie; brothers-in-law, John and Mickey as well as numerous other relatives and friends who accompanied Alex on his journey through life. Alex was predeceased by his parents, Ted and Gwen and his brother-in-law, Larry. (Roblin Review, 10/13/2020)
