Description	:	Alexander Monroe Brown, Jr. was born January 22, 1840 in Peoria, Illinois to Alexander Monroe Brown, Sr. and Rebecca Malinda (Swazee) [Martin] Brown. He came to Oregon with his parents and siblings in 1847 and grew up on his father's Donation Land Claim on the Columbia River. On August 29, 1867 in Tillamook County, Oregon, he married Sarah Mariah Wilson. They had six children: Charles Brown; William Hamilton Brown; George Wilson Brown; Benjamin Franklin Brown; Anna Olive Brown; and James Jamison Brown. Alexander died November 30, 1899.
