Description	:	Requiem high mass for Alexander Schweitzer, 80, was celebrated Tuesday morning at St. Richard's Catholic church in Columbia Falls. Burial followed mass Tuesday morning in the St. Richard's Cemetery in Columbia Falls. L.A. Schoenberg, John Mengon, Matt Walsh, Robert Mengon, Otto Cavalar, and Lee Downes, pallbearers. Alexander Schweitzer was born July 6, 1875, at Tyroe, Austria. He grew to manhood there and in 1910 came to this country, settling in the Flathead in the Columbia Falls area. He returned to Austria to bring his family to this country in 1920 and had since made his home in this area. Mr. Schweitzer worked in the woods for many years making ties for the Great Northern Railway until he retired a number of years ago, and since retiring had made his home on his farm five miles north of Columbia Falls, where he died Jan. 13. He was preceded by his wife, Domenica, in 1936, and one son, Ceasar, in 1935. Surviving him are his three daughters, Mrs. Elda Downes, Mrs. Ida Sedivy, both of Columbia Falls, and Mrs. Mary Ryan of Seattle; one brother and one sister in Austria; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
