He was taken seriously ill with heart trouble about three weeks prior to his death. He was one of Starks oldest citizens, having been born here over seventy eight years ago, the son of Frances Michael Andreu who emigrated from Seville, Spain, to St. Augustine and onto Starke in the eighteen century and was one of Starke's founders. He had lived in Bradford County all of his life until about three years ago, when, on the death of his wife, Caroline Wynn Andreu, he made his home temporarily with his daughter Mrs. Charles A Moitt at Lacoochee. He lived the life of a peaceful, law abiding and honorable citizen, being one of the county's most valued. He had been a consistent member of the Baptist church at New River for the past 43 years. Interment was at the New River Cemetery with services conducted by Rev. L W Kickliter his life long friend. Rev. Raymond pastor of Starke Baptist Church assisted. Mr. John Powell of Starke Baptist Church sang. He leaves to morn his departure one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Johns of Starke, one brother F A Andreu of New River and eight children, Mrs. W H Green, Mrs. F B Johns, Mr. Ira W Andreu of Starke; Mrs. Charles A Moitt and Mrs. Newton F Andreu of Lacoochee; Mrs. W A Alverez and Mr. George E Andreu of Jacksonville and Mrs. S L Stroup of Crystal River as well as a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. The Funeral was attended by his brother and sister, all of his children and grandchildren except Mrs. Inez Stroup of Asheville, N. C. and Donald Stroup of Detroit, Michigan. Among his grandchildren was Congressman R A Green who returned from Washington to attend. A very large number of other relatives and friends attended and the floral offerings were unusually large. The funeral was under the direction of DeWitt C Jones funeral director. Pall bearers were Sheriff W J Epperson, N D Wainwright, Fred F Stroup, J M Mitchell, J H Ritch and W W Baisden. Note: Although the author of this memorial says that he was born in Spain, I believe he was born in Florida but that his g g grandfather came from Minorca, Spain.
