Description	:	lfonzo Louis Maschka, 85, of Ashton, died Friday evening, Feb. 16, 1979 at a St Paul hospital, after being hospitalized for one week. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Feb. 19 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ashton. Fr. Andrew Gonda, Fr. Milan Kopushar, Very Rev. Michael Szezesny and Very Rev. Anthony Figlerski con-celebrated the mass. Music for the mass was furnished by organist, Mrs. Claudia Badura, who accompanied the song leader, Gary Kuszak. Casket bearers were Don Jehorek, Vian Lukasiewicz, Mike Owens, John Maschka, Dominic Roy and Scott Maschka. Burial was in Ashton Cemetery. Visitations were held Sunday from 1-9 p.m., with the parish rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. and the Knights of Columbus rosary immediately following at Loup City Memorial Funeral Home, who was in charge of arrangements. Maschka was born Sept. 21, 1893, northeast of Ashton, the son of August and Rozalia (Wesierski) Maschka. He received his education and grew to manhood in Sherman county. On Sept. 25, 1922, at Farwell, he was united in marriage to Eugenis Lukasiewicz. After their marriage, they lived in Ashton where he worked with his brother in the grocery business, buying the business in 1946, and retiring in 1967. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and a charter member of Sts Peter and Paul Council 1918 Knights of Columbus of St. Paul. Survivors include his widow of Ashton; two sons, Ereshiel of Lincoln and Kenneth of Ashton; two brothers, Ralph of Omaha and Joe of Ashton and one sister, Mrs. Frances Maiefski of Loup City; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild as well as other relatives. He was preceded in death by one daughter, one sister, four brothers and his parents.
