There are no immediate relatives surviving in this area. ---------- Thursday, May 5, following a lingering illness of two years. He had been taken to the hospital the day before. Alfred B. Albrecht was born in Clayton County May 1, 1862. He had spent his entire life in the county with the exception of two years in his early youth which he spent at Two Rivers, Wis. Mr. Albrecht always took a keen interest in political and civic affairs. He was elected to the Clayton county board of supervisors in 1918 and held this position for a number of years. He held the office of township clerk of Cox Creek township for 30 years. He was an active member of the Elkader Masonic Lodge, No. 72, A.F.& A.M. and a 32nd degree Mason of the Clinton consistory. He also was a member of Charity Chapter, No. 152, Order of the Eastern Star. He was married to Alice Leonard Kramer in 1890. They established their home at Mederville. His wife preceded him in death in 1934, as did two stepsons. Of late years he has made his home with Mrs. Myrtle Kramer, who cared for him during his long illness. He is survived by many relatives and a host of friends. Pallbearers were: Everett Hagensick, Milton Wolf, George Behn, E. H. McGee, Lawrence Mueller, and John Maehl. Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Roy Leonard, Minneapolis, Minn.; Dick Leonard, St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Leonard, Detroit Lake, Minn.; Mrs. Henry Leonard and Don Leonard, Garnavillo; Mr. and Mrs. John Leonard, Arlington.
