Briggs (1908-) son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Briggs, early settlers in Pelican Township, was born and raised near Foley. He attended Pelican District 39 school. In 1931 he married Margaret Jankord (1906- ), daughter of Anthony Jankord of Henry and Florence area. They had four children, Robert, Richard, LaVerne and Dale. Briggs (1908-) son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Briggs, early settlers in Pelican Township, was born and raised near Foley. He attended Pelican District 39 school. In 1931 he married Margaret Jankord (1906- ), daughter of Anthony Jankord of Henry and Florence area. They had four children, Robert, Richard, LaVerne and Dale. Robert and Richard were twins born in 1933. Richard had learning disabilities and died in 1959. Robert married Donna Zamow and later moved on the farm and lived there for six years. LaVerne (1934- ) worked in Kalamazoo, Mich., and later New Jersey for K. O. Gas Co. He suffered a severe heart attack and is in Jenkins Nursing Home in Watertown. He has two daughters. Dale (1938- ) married Paula Wirtz in 1957. He worked at the Buick garage and later moved to Sioux Falls for a year. He moved back to Watertown and worked for the fire department for 17 years before purchasing a night club, The Red Rooster, in 1977. Alfred served on the Foley School Board for many years, was a director of the Watertown Coop. Elevator Board and was a committeeman for eight years on the Agricultural Soil Conservation Board.
