Barber Dead Following an acute spell of indigestion, A. C. Barber suffered a stroke of paralysis last Sunday morning which resulted in his death early Wednesday morning. Mr. Barber was born near Mendon, Ill., May 5, 1848, and at the time of his death was 68 years 9 months 9 days old. Barber Dead Following an acute spell of indigestion, A. C. Barber suffered a stroke of paralysis last Sunday morning which resulted in his death early Wednesday morning. Mr. Barber was born near Mendon, Ill., May 5, 1848, and at the time of his death was 68 years 9 months 9 days old. He was one of the early settlers west of Skidmore, and had a wide circle of friends, who are deeply grieved by his sudden departure of this life. On December 22, 1876, he was united in marriage to Miss Ann M. Costen, and she with the following children still survive: John F. Barber, Lillian C. Knepper, Lucy E. Botkin, Miss Vera R. Barber, Marie Ann Zook, Alonzo A. Barber, Miss Viola Barber, Miss Glo Barber, Frank R. Barber. Mr. Barber was a long time member of Burr Oak church and was a true friend of this organization. The funeral services were held at Burr Oak church today at 2 o'clock, conducted by Revs. Reubin Barrett and D. F. Harrison after which the burial was in Burr Oak cemetery under auspices of A. F. & A. M. lodge of Skidmore, Mo. An obituary of the life of Mr. Barber will be published next week."
