Description	:	Alfred E. Jones, 78, of Dallas City, Ill., died at 3:35 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2007, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Born Sept. 1, 1928, in Galesburg, Ill., he was the son of Henry "Pat" and Elsie Mae Stone Jones. On Jan. 20, 1951, he married Dolores Ann Hoenig in Fort Madison. Mr. Jones served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He worked for Smith Motors and Lange Buick, both in Fort Madison, and for Thomas Motors in Burlington. Born Sept. 1, 1928, in Galesburg, Ill., he was the son of Henry "Pat" and Elsie Mae Stone Jones. On Jan. 20, 1951, he married Dolores Ann Hoenig in Fort Madison. Mr. Jones served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He worked for Smith Motors and Lange Buick, both in Fort Madison, and for Thomas Motors in Burlington. He was a clerk at Chanen's Auto Parts Store in Fort Madison. He then worked in purchasing at Freuhauf Co. from 1967 until retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Dallas City American Legion. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Lisa Siemens of Niota, Ill., Jocelyn Johnson of Fountain Green, Ill., and Andrea Thomas of Fort Madison; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Jones of Moline, Ill.; one sister, Erla Mae Rhodes of Washington, Ill.; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Friday at Banks and Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City where the family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Jones will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Banks and Beals Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Menschel officiating. Burial with military rites will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Fort Madison.
