Description	:	Alfred E. "Al" Ruble, 87, a Wenatchee area resident for over 80 years and longtime East Wenatchee Orchardist, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2006, at Central Washington Hospital. He was born on January 9, 1919, at Mooreland, OK to Charles O. and Lela E. (Stewart) Ruble. "Al" Ruble, 87, a Wenatchee area resident for over 80 years and longtime East Wenatchee Orchardist, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2006, at Central Washington Hospital. He was born on January 9, 1919, at Mooreland, OK to Charles O. and Lela E. (Stewart) Ruble. They moved their family to Wenatchee in October of 1922, where they made their first home on the Frank Reeves Ranch in Sleepy Hollow. In 1933, they moved to East Wenatchee. Al graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1937, and later enlisted in the U.S. Army in September of 1942. He received an Honorable Medical Discharge in 1943. He returned to East Wenatchee and in 1944, he purchased orchard property in East Wenatchee, where he has farmed and lived 62 years to date. On May 9, 1966, he was married to Edythe Marie Johnson in Wenatchee. Together they made their home at the orchard farm. Edythe preceded him in death on October 2, 1985. He was a member of Eastmont Baptist Church, a 66 year member of the Wenatchee Aerie # 204 F.O.E., a lifetime member of the D.A.V., a 61 year member of the American Legion and a member of the American Legion Drum and Bugle Corp, Post 10. He is survived by one step-son, Danny R. Johnson (Kathy), Scranton, PA; one step-daughter, Suzanne Putzier (Galen), Tacoma; three sisters, Evelyn DePonty, Wenatchee, Alberta Warnett, Chelan, and Marge Evett of Watsonville, CA; two brothers, E.D. "Jim" Ruble and Charles "Chuck" Ruble Jr., both of East Wenatchee; four grandchildren, Andrian Johnson, Danielle Johnson, Holly Johnson and Andy C. Putzier. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edythe and one sister, Edith Hansen of Spanaway, WA. Commemoration Services will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at Telford's Chapel of the Valley with the Rev. Steve Brewer officiating. Concluding Services and the Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friends who wish may make memorial donations in his name to the Eastmont Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
