A service was at 2 p.m. Friday at the Evangelical United Church of Christ, Marysville. Gary Phillips officiated. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Phyllis Totten was organist and Wayne Kruse sang "Precious Lord, Take My Hand," "I Am the Bread of Life" and "You'll Never Walk Alone." Alfred Pollman was born March 1, 1919, in rural Marshall County, the son of Frank and Grace Focken Pollman. He was in the Army Air Corps from 1942 until 1945. He was a farmer and an appliance repairman in Marysville. He married Velma Uphold Harries July 9, 1992. She survives. He enjoyed baseball and softball, umpiring, bowling and a trip to Germany to visit with family. Survivors include his wife, Velma of the home; one son, Jim Pollman, Houston; one daughter, Joy Gerlitz, Vancouver, WA.; three step-children, Brenda Staggenborg, Marysville, Carol Gentry, Simpson, and Susan Harries, Grangeville, ID; and nine step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Nelda McDonald Pollman, 1955; his second wife, Harriet Nelson Riesen Pollman, 1983; and six siblings, Anna Ottersberg, George Pollman, Elsie Ubben Huf, Sena Gerdes, Tena Ehnen and Eddie Pallman.
