Description	:	A tribute published in The Reveille Enterprise: Alfred Shaw, or Jack Aldred as he was known by his friends, passed away suddenly at his home near Mt. Sterling on May 30, 1983. He was born, near Mt. Sterling on Nov. 22, 1898, the fourth of seven children to Rosa Bell and James Aldred. He is survived by his wife Margery, a son,Dr. Allen Wayne of Fort Wayne, 4 grandchildren, Dr. Stephen of Dallas, Texas, Kathy of Dallas, Texas, Marcia Cismowski and Keith of Ft. Wayne. He was born, near Mt. Sterling on Nov. 22, 1898, the fourth of seven children to Rosa Bell and James Aldred. He is survived by his wife Margery, a son,Dr. Allen Wayne of Fort Wayne, 4 grandchildren, Dr. Stephen of Dallas, Texas, Kathy of Dallas, Texas, Marcia Cismowski and Keith of Ft. Wayne. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Booth, Leslie, Shawn and Melanie. Two brothers, Wilbur and Ben, preceded him in death. Three sisters, Mary Heath, Leo Haskell, Mallie Lester, and a brother James survive and reside near Vevay. He was raised in Switzerland Co. and on Dec. 31,1925 was united in marriage to Margery Allen. His occupation was farming, in which he continued until his age forced his semi-retirement. He loved his friends and neighbors, who will sorely miss him. He loved the soil and took pride and pleasure in the fruits of the earth. He joined the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church at an early age and was instrumental in helping to build the present building in 1933. The church was an important part of his life. He loved his wife, son, daughter-in-law Eleanor, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He left them a heritage very few are blessed to receive. Good-bye Jack, Dad, Grandpa. We will miss you.
