Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Graves Funeral Chapel in Miles City with Rev William R Marvin in charge. Interment will be in the family plot in the Custer County cemetery. Alfred Clarke was born in Blundeston, England, December 15, 1878, the eldest son of Richard R and Alice Boyce Clarke. He came to Miles City direct from his birthplace, with his parents in 1882, arriving June 10. He attended the Miles City public schools, graduating in 1896. He was married November 30, 1900 to Daisy Seeley, and to this union were born three sons and four daughters. He was a plaster and bricklayer by trade and worked in Miles City until about 1910 when he moved to a ranch in the Little Sheep Mountain county where he stayed about 20 years. He then moved to Terry where he has made his home since that time. Survivors include his widow; three sons, Earle S, Stacy, Ricard E, Libby, and William, Fairfield; and four daughters, Dorothy Gould, Dolly Maurantonio and Daisy of Great Falls, and Joanne McGinnis, Tacoma WA. He is also survived by three brothers, W G Clarke, Miles City, Harry G Clarke, Twain Harte CA, and W Roberts Clarke, Turlock CA. He was preceded in death by a brother Charles G Clarke, who passed away December 1, 1952 in Terry. Three sisters, Emily Hardie, McMinnville Or, Bessie Kirkpatrick, Grand Junction CO, and Alice Pankonin, La CA, also survive, and 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mrs Clarke, who has been ill for some time, makes her home with her daughters in Great Falls. The Terry Tribune 5-14-1953
