Description	:	ALFRED S. ROSS - MIDLAND, MARYLAND Alfred Simeon Ross, 97, Box 184, died Monday, May 15, 1989, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. Born Feb. 22, 1892, at Stoney Run, he was the son of the Late Lacey W. and Mandanna (Miller) Ross. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie (VanMeter) Ross, in 1974, and by one daughter and two sons. Mr. Ross was a retired coal miner from Jenkins Coal Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie (VanMeter) Ross, in 1974, and by one daughter and two sons. Mr. Ross was a retired coal miner from Jenkins Coal Company. He was the oldest member of the First Assembly Of God Church, Lonaconing, and a member of the United Mine Workers. Surviving are three sons, Wilbur Ross and Charles Ross, both of Frostburg; and Raymond Ross, Baltimore; four daughters, Beatrice Duckworth and Marion Majors, both of Frostburg; Lois Hunt, Vienna, Va.; and Shirley Ternent, Midland; one sister, Cletus Miller, Westernport; 34 grandchildren; 63 Great-grandchildren; and 58 great great grand-children. Friends will be received at the Boal-Warnick Funeral Home, Lonaconing, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Services will be conducted Thursday at 1pm. at the First Assembly Of God Church by the Rev. W.W. Martin and the Rev. George Loar. Internment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lonaconing. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
