Hunt, seventy-one years old, committed suicide Sunday evening, presumably at about 8 o'clock at the home of his son Elmer Hunt, of south of Markle. Mr Hunt used a shotgun in ending his life, the charge penetrating his temple and blowing off the top of his head. Elmer Hunt and his family, who had gone to Markle to spend the evening, returned at 10 o'clock and found the elder Mr Hunt's body in a chair in the yard. Mr. Hunt, it is said, had been in poor health for a number of years and his mind was affected to some extent. He left a letter in which he said that he intended to end his life because he was tired of living any longer. He had been seemingly in good spirits when the family left at 7 o'clock, although he was inclined to be melancholy at times. Surviving children are Elmer E. Hunt, with whom he lived; Mrs Louis Redding of west of Bluffton; Mrs Pritchard of Nebraska, Bert Hunt of Flint, Mich., and Carl and Helen Hunt of Indianapolis. Brothers and sisters are Charles Hunt of Bluffton; Calvin of Cadillac, Mich.; Del of Fort Wayne; Mrs. Clara Smith, Cadilliac, Mich,; Mrs. Marillia Will of Rock Creek township, and Mrs Rose Sparks of Rock Creek township. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Buckeye Church and interment will be in the Sparks cemetery.
