E. ELLIS Algernon Edwin Ellis, son of Jones and Martha Ellis, was born in Franklin County, Indiana, July 16, 1859, died Sept. 22, 1917, aged 58 years, 2 months and 7 days. He moved with his parents to Mercer County, Illinois, in 1861, residing there until 21 years of age. He then moved to Decatur County Iowa, with his mother in 1882, his father having died the year previous. He was married to Ella Warner, March 25, 1885. To this union three children were born. After his marriage, he moved to Leon, Iowa, residing there eight years. For the last twenty years he has been engaged in farming and shipping stock. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and three children, Harley A., of Davis City, Raymond W. of Van Wert, and Mrs. Faye C. Tuller of Leon, and five grandchildren who were at this bedside at the time of his death. He also leaves an only sister, Mrs. Mary E. Noble, of Kellerton, Iowa, his only brother William P. Ellis, died at Crowell, Neb., in 1916. He was born of Quaker parents and later joined the Baptist church. He was a kind loving husband and father, and a good neighbor. He had been in failing health for over a year, his death having been caused by apoplexy. The funeral services were held at the home by Rev. Harrison Hamilton, where a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends followed the remains to the beautiful Leon cemetery, where the I.O.O.F. took charge, using their beautiful ritualistic burial service.
