Alice A Facile was the daughter of August and Jennie Wauters Facile. She graduated from Montezuma High School in 1958. She earned her nursing degree from Mercy College in Iowa City, Iowa in 1961. Alice A Facile was the daughter of August and Jennie Wauters Facile. She graduated from Montezuma High School in 1958. She earned her nursing degree from Mercy College in Iowa City, Iowa in 1961. She was married to Don DeRycke on September 1, 1962 at the St Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn, Iowa. They lived in rural Belle Plaine. They were blessed with three children; Dan, Randy and Ann. Alice was active in politics and was currently the chairperson for the Republican Party, a position she has held for several years. She volunteered and was a part of many organizations in the community, which included: Vice President for Right to Life, hospice nurse, ambulance service, Iowa County Supervisor, school board for HLV Community High School, judicial committee, landfill board, Altar & Rosary Society, Marion Study Club, Red Hats, parish nurse, and had taught religious education for 19 years. Family and faith were most important to Alice. She was a caring person who always had a smile on her face and a hug to offer to everyone. She enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the US and also to Europe and Canada. She also enjoyed reading, watching western movies, caring for the animals and spending time with her grandchildren.
