Alice Fry / Alice Floyd Allie Troxel, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Troxel, was born in Janesville, Wis., on the first day of May, 1867. Her parents both died when she was a very small child and she was raised in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Burk in Polk township. In 1884 she was united in marriage to John Fry and to them three children were born, they are Clarence Fry, of Chicago, Mrs. Fred Cousins, of Waterloo, and Charles Fry, who lives near Urbana.... Alice Fry / Alice Floyd Allie Troxel, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Troxel, was born in Janesville, Wis., on the first day of May, 1867. Her parents both died when she was a very small child and she was raised in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Burk in Polk township. In 1884 she was united in marriage to John Fry and to them three children were born, they are Clarence Fry, of Chicago, Mrs. Fred Cousins, of Waterloo, and Charles Fry, who lives near Urbana. Mr. Fry died in California in August, 1889, and on Sept. 30, 1891, she was married to E. R. Floyd by the late Dr. Avery on their farm northeast of Vinton. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd resided on their farm until about six years ago when they moved to Vinton. To Mr. and Mrs. Floyd seven children were born, they are Mrs. V. A. Stoner, of Denver, Colo., Will, Dexter, and Dallas, of Vinton, Edwin, who is in the army and stationed at Camp Stanley, Texas, Josephine, who resides at home and Beulah, who died in infancy. Death came to Mrs. Floyd on the morning of December 23d, after an illness with pneumonia. Mrs. Floyd was a fine christian woman and was a devoted wife and mother and realized her greatest happiness in her many attentions to her devoted husband and for her children. The funeral was at the home and the burial was in Kesling (sic) cemetery northeast of Vinton. Mrs. Floyd was a faithful member of the Christ Scientist church and the services were in charge of the Misses Gaston. children: Olive Luella Floyd Stoner, William Wallace Floyd, Herman Dexter Floyd, Dallas Denton Floyd, Josephine Mary "Josie" Floyd Fuehrer
