Description	:	Young "Allie" Bucknell arrived in the new Union Veterans' town of Lynn Haven (est. 1911), Bay Co., FL by 1915 where she was employed as a local school teacher. In 1918 she was married to Roy Van Kleeck of Lynn Haven. Allie & Roy Van Kleeck's LH home was always a center of many dinners & social events for both church & civic affairs. In 1918 she was married to Roy Van Kleeck of Lynn Haven. Allie & Roy Van Kleeck's LH home was always a center of many dinners & social events for both church & civic affairs. Her young husband & his father had first opened "Van Kleeck's Livery & Draying Co." at LH in 1913 which was re-organized by 1920 as "Van Kleeck's Lumber and Hardware Co." and by 1933 was operated at locations in both LH and in Panama City, FL. Her husband Roy was an elected Bay Co. Commissioner who served in that office from 1933 until his death in 1939. After her husband's tragic death in 1939, young "Allie" Van Kleeck made an arrangment with N. A. Smith (of Pensacola) to become a managing partner and the business was renamed "The Van Kleeck Company". Before 1950 she sold the business to the A.N. Smith family. Allie had returned to her former home in Floyd Co., Iowa and then to Nashua, Chickasaw Co., Iowa although she made frequent trips back to FL to visit with former family and friends until after the death of her husband's parents and of her own mother. Although she was a wealthy widow at the time of her husband's death, she transferred much of her late husband's estate to his sister's children shortly after that (Bay Co. Property Deeds). "Allie"(Alice) Bucknell was a daughter of Sarah "Sadie" Augusta Grow (d. 1941) and Thomas Greenslade Bucknell(d. 1933). Her parents had been divorced by 1900 but she & her many siblings were all well known in the Charles City and Nashua communities where most lived all their lives.
