Alice Anna Marie Henry was born October 17, 1913, in Longmont to William and Margaret (Klaus) Henry. She was the youngest daughter with eight siblings. Alice Anna Marie Henry was born October 17, 1913, in Longmont to William and Margaret (Klaus) Henry. She was the youngest daughter with eight siblings. As a child, Marie worked in the beet fields with her family as was typical for German families from Russia. Marie married Dave Weinmeister of Windsor on January 7, 1934. A farmer's wife, Marie lived in northern Colorado her entire life, but she especially enjoyed living on the Crocker Ranch in Estes Park early in her marriage where her husband groomed and trained horses. Marie worked and then later retired from the laundry department at Poudre Valley Hospital. Marie was a loving mom, grandma, aunt, and friend. Her home was always open to family and friends. She was an accomplished seamstress, quilter, gardener and baker. No one ever left her house without a home baked treat. She loved to laugh, dance to polka music and was a great listener. Even though her life was not always easy, she handled challenges with grace, a sense of humor and kindness. Marie is survived by son, Donald (Rosamary) Weinmeister; daughter, Joan Busch; and daughter-in-law Marianne Weinmeister all of Fort Collins; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 16 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave; son, Robert; great grandson, Chris Derman; and her brothers and sisters. The family wishes to thank the staff at Golden Peaks and Pathways Hospice for the care they provided to Marie. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 328 Walnut Street in Windsor. Memorial contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice or Bethel Lutheran Church in care of Allnutt, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, CO 80526.
