Description	:	Mrs. Alice Catherine ("Topsy'') Cowan passed away in HD Hospital, on Friday, 27th January. Everyone who knew her could not but help admire her attitude and outlook to her illness. She was a very productive needle woman and whenever at her home in 58 Owen St., with spare moments, there was always some handicraft being produced with great agility and speed. "Topsy" was very active as vice-president, for six years, to the Senior Citizens' Club. She was born in Mudgee in 1918, the daughter of Alexander and May Bruce, but lived most of her married life in Owen St. Her husband, Col, predeceased her on 2/12/62. She is survived by two sons, Max and Athol, their wives, six grandchildren, her sister Jean (Blacktown), brothers Roy (Port Macquarie), George (Annandale), and John (South Grafton). Her funeral service was held on Tuesday, 31st January, at 11 a.m., in the Presbyterian Church and interment followed in the church of England portion of PM cemetery, beside her late husband. The beautiful gesture of forming a guard of honour for "Topsy" at the church by so many of her senior citizen friends, and Mrs. Gwen Garrow, group president, and president of Wauchope CWA, plus many other local and visiting CWA branch members, will long be remembered and appreciated by her family.—Contributed. She was aged 65 years. Her funeral service was held at the Presbyterian Church, at 11 a .M ., on Monday, and later at the Port Macquarie cemetery. She is survived by her two sons, Max and Athol.
