Description	:	Alice Evelyn White, 86 of Sidney passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Sidney Memorial Health Center. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 12, 2008 in the Light Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sidney with Pastor Linda Walz officiating. Private family inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Cremation has taken place and there is no visitation at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Light Memorial Presbyterian Church Building Fund. Alice was born October 28, 1921 in Ulysses, NE to William "Alvin" and Ruth E. Roberts. The family moved to Sidney in 1925. She attended the Sidney schools, graduating from Sidney High in 1939. Alice helped her mother in the Roberts Grocery, later known as Osage Grocery, until the summer of 1941, when she moved to Denver. There she met her husband, George C. White, while he was stationed at Lowry Air Field. They were married on April 14, 1942 at Hamilton Field, Marin County CA. George returned from overseas in 1945, and the family moved to Sidney in 1949. Alice enjoyed her home and children, and was active in their school activities: band, 4-H, basketball, etc. Before retiring, she had been a long time employee at J.C. Penney's, Fine's Ready to Wear, and Anne's Card and Party Shop. Alice was a member of the Light Memorial Presbyterian Church, Hospital Auxiliary, the Cheyenne County Genealogical Society and the Historical Association. Survivors include daughter, Judith C. Storer and husband David, Albuquerque, NM, son, John W. White and wife Sandra, Sidney, and daughter, Mary Ellen Keelan and husband Sidney, Lincoln; two granddaughters, Stacie Robles and husband Juan, and Tania Cuellar and husband Mark of San Antonio, TX, two grandsons, Christopher White of Sidney and Jesse Keelan of Omaha; two great-granddaughters, Kaila & Isabella Cuellar of San Antonio; and numerous other relatives.
