Description	:	Alice Everette Ramsey, age 95, Uniontown, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott. She was born November 21, 1909, near Uniontown, the daughter of Charles E. Cowan and Sarah A. Bess Vanlandingham. She was a graduate of Uniontown High School. She married Herman P. Ramsey Nov. 20, 1909, in Iola. He preceded her in death in 1968. She worked at a Boeing Plant in Seattle, Washington, during World War II. Following the war she returned to Uniontown. She worked for the Parsons Ammunition Plant and retired from that facility. She was born November 21, 1909, near Uniontown, the daughter of Charles E. Cowan and Sarah A. Bess Vanlandingham. She was a graduate of Uniontown High School. She married Herman P. She worked for the Parsons Ammunition Plant and retired from that facility. She moved to Gardner in August 2001 and returned to Uniontown in March of this year. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Uniontown. Survivors include two daughters, Peggy A. Elliott, Gardner, and Cathleen Prescott, Corona, California; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin Cowan and James L. Cowan; three sisters, Edna Turner, Lois Ainsworth and Shirley Bolinger. The Rev. Marty DeWitt conducted funeral services on Friday, Dec. 17. Burial was in the Uniontown Cemetery. Memorial contributions were recommended to the March of Dimes or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
