Description	:	Mrs. Alice Goodnight, wife of Matthias Goodnight, died at their home on North Poplar street Thursday morning at five o'clock, of a complication of aliments resulting from liver troubles with which she had been suffering for many years. Mrs. Goodnight had not been able to leave her bed since October, 1919, bur through all her long illness had been a patient sufferer and very appreciative of all the care and attention that had been given her by her children, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Goodnight had not been able to leave her bed since October, 1919, bur through all her long illness had been a patient sufferer and very appreciative of all the care and attention that had been given her by her children, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Goodnight was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Giles, pioneers of Tipton county and was born in this county April 1, 1861, and has lived in Tipton and vicinity all her life. The deceased had been married three times. She was married 43 years ago, on November 11, 1879 to Noble Porter Young, whose death took place in Tipton, 35 years ago, in 1886. There were three children born to this union, all of whom survive the mother, Robert Young, Mrs. William Jaqua, and Mrs. R.H. Horton, of this city. She was married the second time a few years later to Ad. E, Curry, on August 30, 1886, and is survived by one son, Fred Curry, by this marriage. This son has also been at her bedside during the last weeks of her illness. Her last marriage was to Matthias Goodnight, on September 17, 1905, and he survives her. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; one brother, Elisha Giles, and one sister, Mrs. John Horton, of this city. Mrs. Goodnight was a member of the First baptist church of this city and had lived a good, conscientious, christian life. In former years she was regular in attendance at church services. She was devoted to her family and a good neighbor and friend.
