Alberts, 91 years, of Fremont, Nebraska died Saturday, February 8, 2014 at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont, Nebraska. Alice was born September 8, 1922 to Walter and Esther (Briggle) Kortmann in Schleswig, Iowa. She grew up in the Schleswig area. She married Melvin A. Alberts on March 24, 1941 in Snyder, Nebraska. She lived at Nickerson, Ames, and Hooper for many years. She worked at P & H Electric in Fremont and DeKalb in Fremont. She moved to Fremont in 1999. Alice was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hooper until their closing. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont and FOE #200 Auxiliary in Fremont. She loved flowers and birds. She is survived by sons, Robert and wife, Beverly Alberts of Dent, Minnesota, Dale Alberts of Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska and Douglas and wife, Margo Alberts of Fremont; daughters, Ramona Kocour and Marlys Brandt of Fremont, and Joan and husband Ken Bovard of Thousand Oaks, California; sister, Wilma Gundy and friend Ed of Nevada, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; sisters, Paula Ruchti, Dorothy Lutz, and Vera Wiege and brother, Walter Kortmann. Funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. Dennis Maaske will officiate. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 P.M. – 8 P.M. with family receiving friends from 6 P.M. – 8 P.M. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue on Friday 1 hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be directed to family choice. Moser Memorial Chapel 2170 N.
