Read More	Added by: Judy H (#47935141) NILSSON ALICE JANE BASCOM NILSSON of Raymond, beloved wife of the late Donald Nilsson, passed away at the Raymond General Hospital on Wednesday, November 24, 1999 at the age of 90 years. Alice was born September 1, 1909 in Vernal, Utah to John Watson and Rachel Lybbert Bascom. When Alice was just 3 years old her mother passed away, and in 1913 her father moved with his children to Alberta. Alice soon had to become the mother to her four brothers. She received her education in New Dayton, a small school near Lethbridge, then moving to Stirling and later to Raymond. She married Donald Nilsson on October 1, 1930 in the Cardston Temple. Most of their married life was spent on the farm northeast of Raymond. Alice is survived by 8 children, one son-in-law, 61 grandchildren, 101 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, 1 brother and 1 sister. Alice was predeceased by her parents; her daughter, Merna Peterson; two grandsons; her step-mother, Ada Romeril; brothers; Raymond, Melvin, Earl, Weldon and Charles; and her sister, Ada Bell, as well as a baby sister, Luella. As anyone knew her can attest, Alice was an extremely hard worker, working alongside her husband and her children, from morning till night, hoeing sugar beets, irrigating, working in the hay and milking cows, as well as cooking for and taking care of nine children. She was a very affectionate and loving mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed. She was so proud of her family and enjoyed having them home all at once. One of her greatest pleasures was attending the L.D.S. Temple as often as she could, and her flower garden was a show place. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Knight Street Chapel, Raymond prior to the service from 9:45 t6o 10:45 a.m., on Tuesday, November, 1999. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Knight Street Chapel, Raymond, with Bishop David Wood officiating. Interment to follow in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.
