Our sympathy is with the relatives and bereaved ones. Le Mars Semi Weekly Sentinel Thursday, May 30, 1901 Le Mars, Iowa Obituary. Alice Jane Oaks, wife of P. A. Oaks, and daughter of James and Susan Stinton, was bom in Whiteside county, Illinois, June 9, 1861, and died in the hospital in Sionx City, Iowa, May 24, 1901, age 39 years, eleven months and fifteen days. She has lived in this county for a number of years, coining here with her parents twenty-eight years ago. She bag been a constant sufferer for some time. Her physician advised her to submit to an operation in order to save her life, but it was found the disease bad too firm n grasp upon her mortal bodyand she died about thirty-six hours after the operation. She leaves sorrowing husband, three sons, a father, mother, and one brother. She was patient in all her sufferings and died a believer in Jesus Christ. She was converted and joined the United Brethren church, February 9, 1880. and remained faithful to the end. Funeral services were conducted Monday. May 27, at the United Brethren church, at Adaville, by her pastor. Rev. D. W. Swender. A large number being present. Relatives and friends from Chatsworth, Akron. LeMars.
