Read More	* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Alice (Kingery) Lofgreen was born on Tuesday; April 4, 1916, at Eldon; Wapello County, Iowa. Alice was one of three daughters born to Oran and Mina (Riegel) Kingery. She moved to Ottumwa; Wapello County, Iowa with her family in 1918 and attended school there. In 1931, the family moved to Montezuma; Poweshiek County, Iowa, where she graduated from high school in 1934. Alice graduated from Drake University in 1936 and taught first grade at Moorhead; Monona County, Iowa. On Sunday; October 24, 1937, she was united in marriage to Harold Lofgreen. They resided in Jefferson; Greene County, Iowa one year and then to Montezuma, Iowa. Mrs. Lofgreen was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority, taught Sunday school, substitute taught, and was a member of the Ken Club, H.G. Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary, a charter member of the Women's Society, Christian Women, and the Montezuma Methodist Church. She transferred to the Marshalltown United Methodist Church when they moved to Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa in 1983 from Lake Ponderosa; Poweshiek County, Iowa where they had lived the previous 14 years. Mrs. Lofgreen enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and being with family. Alice (Kingery) Lofgreen, age 90, of the Glenwood Place in Marshalltown, Iowa, formerly of Montezuma and the Bobcat Estates in Marshalltown, passed away early Saturday morning, on March 31, 2007 at the Glenwood Place while in care of the Iowa Hospice. Those left to mourn her passing are her daughter, Sara "Sally" (Larry) Hansen of Marshalltown, Iowa. Her son Harold "Hal" (Connie) of Becker; Sherburne County, Minnesota. Her grandchildren: Jennifer Roe, Dr. Beth (Andy) Kilborn and Jim Lofgreen as well as her family at Glenwood Place. In death she has rejoined her beloved Harold, her parents and two sisters. May they rest in peace. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening; April 1, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday; April 2, 2007 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with a time of fellowship and refreshments immediately following in the hospitality room of the funeral home. Interment rites will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday; April 2, 2007 at the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma; Poweshiek County, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
