There were sad hearts in all Nevada households last Saturday morning, February 28th, 1891, when it became known that the earthly life of the estimable young woman named above, was ended. Her death, after a suffering illness of many weeks, was peaceful. "They thought her dying when she slept, And sleeping when she died." She was the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Klove and was born at Decorah, Iowa, November 11th, 1870. She came with her parents to Nevada eight years ago, since which time in girlhood and young womanhood, she has gone in and out before our people with ways so kindly, thoughtful and lovable as to win a warm place for herself in the hearts of all, the old as well as the young. September 2nd 1890, she was married to Fred C. McCall, one of our capable young business men, and entered upon a new life which she fondly hoped would for years prove a blessing to herself, her husband and their mutual parental households. In six brief months her wedded life is ended. She would have been glad to live, to live to serve and make happy those she loved--her last words were words of appreciation and endearment; but she was ready and willing to die. She was active genial and helpful in her home and social life, likewise in her church relations. As teacher of the infant class in Sunday school, secretary of the Woman's home and foreign missionary society, and singer in the choir, she always, as long as health allowed, did well and faithfully her part. Her funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Lutheran church by her pastor, the Rev. Geo. H. Schnur. A deeply sympathetic audience filled the church to its utmost capacity and many turned away for lack of room. A wealth of loveliest flowers, offerings of affection and sympathy decked the altar to which came the fair bride of Death; the favorite hymn of the departed. "Abide with me! Fast falls the eventide!" voiced the plea of burdened hearts; the pastor in a thoughtful, heartfelt address based on the Master's assurance, "In my Father's house are many mansions," presented uplifting, comforting suggestions; prayer sought balm for the bruised; the "Song of the Beautiful Land," during moments of final leave taking, directed hope to "the Home of the Soul," between which and this "but thinly the veil intervenes;" and the precious form was tenderly borne to its final rest. To the young husband, the joy of whose home life has been so early and unexpectedly turned into mourning, and to the bereaved kindred the sincere condolence of the entire community is extended. Below will be found memorial resolutions submitted by the Christian Endeavor and Missionary societies of the Lutheran church. The expressions of esteem and affection therein, and responsive acceptance in the hearts of all, RESOLUTIONS. By the Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor: Resolved, That in the death of our sister, Mrs. Alice Klove McCall, we have lost one of the most faithful and efficient workers among the young people of our church; that our sympathy and love be extended to the stricken families; that we point them and all her young friends to Jesus who is "able to save to the uttermost."
