Description	:	The community was greatly shocked Saturday morning to learn of the sudden death the night before of Mrs. Alice Gillespie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Langworthy. She was at the home of her brother, Mr. W. E. Langworthy, during the evening, and about seven o'clock was seized with a severe pain in the head, at the same time throwing up her hands and exclaiming, "Oh, my head." She was at the home of her brother, Mr. W. E. Langworthy, during the evening, and about seven o'clock was seized with a severe pain in the head, at the same time throwing up her hands and exclaiming, "Oh, my head." Those were the last words she ever spoke. Drs. J. T. Potter and F. A. Marsh were hurriedly summoned, but were unable to do anything to relieve the stricken woman, and a couple of hours later she was dead. Death was caused, it was said, by a ruptured blood vessel. Mrs. Gillespie, accompanied by her little son, had come to Seward a couple of months before to be present at the wedding of her brother, Mr. B. S. Langworthy, and had intended to remain during the summer. Her parents were absent visiting their son Fred in Sioux county at the time of her death, but the sad news was telegraphed to them, and they arrived in Seward Sunday, also their sons Fred of Sioux county, and Bert of Sheridan, Wyoming. Mr. Gillespie was also notified, and started for Seward immediately, arriving here Monday noon.Alice Langworthy Gillespie was born in Monticello, Iowa, May 10, 1863, and was therefore 36 years, 2 months and 23 days of age at the time of her death. She came to Seward with her parents in 1876, where she attended the public schools, and after graduating from them attended Brownell Hall at Omaha. July 9, 1890, she was married to Mr. T. M. Gillespie of Archer City, Texas, where she has resided ever since. To them was born one son, Herbert L. , who is now 9 years of age.In this city where Mrs. Gillespie had spent many years of her life she had many friends who loved her for her many good qualities, and, together with the immediate relatives, will deeply mourn her loss.Funeral services were held at the home of her parents at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Rev.
