She was born 14 March , 1925,in Medley's Neck, the daughter of Wilmer Woodburn and Alice Estelle "Elsie" Higgs Woodburn. Alice White was preceeded in death by her father. She married Marvin "Shorty" Edward White on November 22, 1945 and together they were blessed with 10 children. Patty Thompson ahd her husband David of Mechanicsville, MD, Jeryle Ann Farrell and her husband Clyde and Marvin White and wife Diane, all of Avenue, MD, John "Buddy" Whie, Susan Boswell and her husband Robert and Tom White and wife Wanda, and Joe White all of Leonardtown, MD, Danny White of Chaptico, MD, Jenny Williams and her husband Johnny of California, MD, Janie Shafer and her husband Rea of Hollywood, MD and Joe White of Leonardtown, MD. She was the sister of Francis B. Woodburn of Virginia, Emily Ann Christie of New York, Mary Jane Wood of Mechanicsville, Rita Abel of California and the late William E. Woodburn. She is survived by her grandchildren, Donna Pleger, Donald Thompson, Patrick Farrell, Kim Bailey, J. F. Williams, Jennifer Williams, Whitney Abell, David Boswell, Allison Shafer, Emily shafer, Renee Tennyson, Jessica Tennyson, Sara Tennyson and R. J. Tennyson, and great grandchildren, Brad Pleger, Matthew Pleger and Hunter Farell. Alice enjoyed being with and caring for family and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent many hours in her vegetable and flower gardens. She also spent many hours bent over her Singer treadle sewing machine sewing for her children. Visitation and prayers were held Friday, Dec. 15, at the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown. Mass of Christian Burial was offered Saturday, Dec. 16, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Leonardtown. The Rev. Damian Shadwell was the celebrant. Interment followed in Charles Memorial Gardens in Leonardtown., MD. Pallbearers for Mrs. White were Donald Thompson, Patrick Farrell, J. F. Williams, Bruce Pleger, Bill Wood and Patrick Woodburn.
