Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2008, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Rev. Gary Landsness will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Sunday, April 13, at the Mauer–Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars. The family will be present 5-8 p.m., with a prayer service scheduled for 7:30 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral on Monday. Alice Marie Chamberlain was born on July 8, 1924, at Newcastle, Nebraska, the daughter of Arthur and Minnie (Bremer) Chamberlain. As a young child, Alice and her family moved to Le Mars, where she was raised and graduated from Le Mars High School in 1943. Following her education, Alice worked for various businesses in the Le Mars area, including JC Penney's, K-Products, Spurgeon's, and Jo-Nee Manufacturing. Alice was a seamstress and will be remembered by many for all the sewing she did from her home. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars and participated in circle. Along with sewing, Alice also liked to go fishing. She will be lovingly remembered by a sister, Eileen Lubben and her husband Ken of Le Mars; a brother, Lloyd Chamberlain of Olympia, WA; a niece, Patricia Lubben of Le Mars; a nephew, Jim Chamberlain of Olympia; and a great-niece, Rachel Lubben of Grand Junction, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Marvin Chamberlain; two nephew,s Michael Lubben and Neil Chamberlain; and a sister-in-law, Pauline Chamberlain.
