Interment will be at the Grenora Cemetery where she will be laid to rest between her husband, Dennis, and son, DuWayne. Waltzing her way through life was how Alice lived her life story. Born on October 21, 1942, as the fifth born child of Arnold and Clara (Haug) Hendrickson, Alice joined her siblings on the farm southeast of Dagmar, MT. She loved life on the farm. From milking cows to helping her father with the field work, Alice treasured her upbringing. She learned to dance at the Log Hall and enjoyed the two-step, polka, waltz, shottish, jitterbug, and butterfly. She loved the neighborly get-togethers with the Little Oscars as well as the family vacations to the Black Hills. Alice fell in love with a neighbor boy, Dennis T. Erickson. They were married on March 18, 1961, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Grenora. To this union they added four children: DuWayne, Doreen, Doris, and Alicia. They lived on the Erickson Farm on the Dakota Line between Dagmar, MT, and Grenora, ND. Dennis and Alice enjoyed dancing, meeting the neighbors for barbeques and bonfires at Brush Lake, trying their luck on the slot machines, and celebrating birthdays and the holidays with family. They were happily married for 40 years until Dennis passed away on July 31, 2001. Their marriage was blessed by enjoying life to the fullest by always putting their family and neighbors first. Being a terrific baker, Alice would make pies, donuts, fattigmann, lefse, cookies, cakes, and countless other homemade goodies. Her reasoning was that she never knew who would be stopping by for coffee and she loved the way the homemade goodies tasted. She loved being a wife, mom, and sister, but the greatest title was being a grandma. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She loved kids! From having sleepovers for the grandkids to baking their birthday cakes, her grandkids lit up her world. Her life was rocked when she lost her only son, DuWayne, in an accident on June 5, 1999. She experienced something that no mother should experience in losing her second-born daughter, Doreen, to cancer on September 19, 2008. Alice was proud of being a school bus driver for Medicine Lake Public Schools for 18 years. She retired in 2002 after Dennis’ death. Retirement brought a new adventure as she moved off the Erickson Farm and became a city girl moving to Williston in the summer of 2002. She lived there until she moved to Grenora in 2012 for a simpler life. Due to her health, she moved closer to her daughter Doris and lived at the Pioneer Manor in Plentywood. Family meant everything to Alice. She loved her daily chats with her daughters as well as visits with her siblings and grandchildren. She was always blessed to have her sisters in which they would joke about becoming The Golden Girls. From the family Christmas celebrations at the Grenora Senior Citizens Center to the potluck birthday parties, Alice was always ready to see her family. She treasured her nieces and nephews as well as the kids that had been on her bus route. Alice will be remembered for her infectious smile and easygoing personality. She taught her kids to be humble, kind, and to always make time to stop and talk to family and friends. Those characteristics are things that her whole family appreciates and are thankful for her instilling in them. Alice is survived by her children Alicia Erickson of Dickinson, ND, and Doris and Jeff Wivholm of Medicine Lake, MT. Her grandchildren: Brant and Amber Wivholm (Klay); Dustin and Tina Wivholm (Tyler and Kylie); Shanda Wivholm and Kendall Russell (Quintyn, Masyn, Maya, Khiry, and Kanyn); Michael Wivholm; Karissa and Dane Hancock (Coen); Kayla and Terry Moltzan (Jack); Krista and Justin Schneider (MacKenleigh and Braelynn); Michelle Krosbakken; and Jameson Krosbakken. Her siblings: Howard Hendrickson and his companion, Marilyn; Orville and Mary Lou Hendrickson; Tony & Dori Hendrickson; Mary Ann LePage; Dorothy and David Blomberg; Evelyn and Roy Simonson; Syliva Haven and her companion, Gary Moran; Pearl and Ernie Haven; and Judy and Bob Bergeron. Her surviving brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws: Shirley Erickson, Talbert and Judy Erickson, Betty Ann Rutz, Glen Erickson, and Donovan Erickson. Also surviving Alice are her numerous nieces and nephews that she loved like her own. She walked towards the light to be reunited with her loved ones. Her husband, Dennis, and her children and son-in-law, DuWayne Erickson and Doreen & Mike Krosbakken. Her grandchild, Shane Krosbakken, and great grandson, Koury Reynolds. Her parents, Arnold and Clara Haug Hendrickson, and step-mother, Alice Hendrickson. Her sister, Bernice Haugen, and her baby brothers, Gene and Arlyn. As well as brother-in-laws Kenny LePage, Johnny Cartwright, Erling Haven, and John Haugen and sister-in-laws, Pearl Hendrickson and Phyllis Hendrickson. Her in-laws, August and Delphine Erickson, as well as Freddie and Dilly Azar, Donald and Maggie Erickson, Arnold Erickson, Noble and Joni Erickson, Eldon Erickson, Gale Erickson, Gary Erickson, Karl Erickson, Helen Erickson, and Duane Erickson. Her nieces and nephews: Barbra Hendrickson, Diane Hendrickson, Steven Haugen, Lee Ann Haugen, Danny Blomberg, Jay LePage, Markie Erickson, and Brandon Erickson.
