She was born Aug. 31, 1907, in Lamoni to Henry and Martha Ann Ward Kaestner She married Henry A. Methner on Nov. 6, 1927, in Coleman, Mich [sic]. He preceded her in death. Read More	OTTUMWA – Alice Martha Methner, 85, of 1977 Albia Road died at 7:10 p.m. March 28, 1993, at Ridgewood Care Center. She was born Aug. 31, 1907, in Lamoni to Henry and Martha Ann Ward Kaestner She married Henry A. Methner on Nov. 6, 1927, in Coleman, Mich [sic]. He preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Lamoni Community High School. She attended Graceland College, the University of Michigan, Drake University and was a graduate of the University of Iowa. She taught science at Washington Junior High School, beginning in 1945. In 1953, she transferred to the biology department of Ottumwa High School, where she served as department chairperson before her retirement in 1972. She was a lifelong member of Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by a niece, Joyce Lee of Spokane, Wash. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a brother, Hyrum Kaestner. The service will be 10:30 a m. Thursday at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home in Ottumwa, the Elder William Clifton of Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Lamoni.
