Ahrens, Dr. L.S. Peek and A.E. Brown. Interment was in the Fontanelle cemetery. Pall bearers were C.F. Hulburt, H.A. Colwel, N.I. Menzer, Floyd Ward, A.A. Kirlin and D.D. McClure. Alice Mary Adams was born Dec. 3, 1854 in Pickaway county, Ohio and departed this life July 21, 1931 at her home in Fontanelle, aged 76 years, seven months and 18 days. Mrs. Adams was a daughter of Enos and Mary Burton and she was the seventh of 12 children, all of whom preceded her in death except one brother, D.C. Burton of Lodge, Ill. Her girlhood was spent in Pickaway and Paulding counties, Ohio, where she was an efficient school teacher until her marriage Oct. 15, 1887, to Edgar Wallace Adams. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Selina Grace Faurote, Charles Elmo Adams and Anna Ernestine Adams, all of whom survive their mother and are living in Fontanelle. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Edgar John, Ralph and Marion Faurote and Charles Elmo Adams Jr. Her devoted husband preceded her in death five years ago. Besides these near relatives she leaves a host of friends who mourn her death. Mrs. Adams has been a resident of Fontanelle 37 years. Thirteen years ago she became afflicted with inflammatory rheumatism and since then has been confined to her bed most of the time but was a patient sufferer with always a word of cheer for her friends who called to see her. Mr. and Mrs. Adams united with the Fontanelle Methodist church April 21, 1895. She was initiated into Cora Rebekah lodge No. 143 Dec. 15, 1899 and remained a loyal member for 31 years. She was also a member of the Dewey club. She leaves behind her an enviable record of good deeds and to her children and many friends she leaves a heritage of beautiful memories.
