Alice was born February 12, 1923 at Marysville, KS. the daughter of Henry and Alwine (Lauterbach) Prell who raised her in Bremen, KS. Alice was baptized and confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hermansburg, KS.. She attended Hermansburg Lutheran School and graduated from Hanover (KS.) High School. She was employed in Manhattan, KS. where she met and married Keith Roll from St. Ansgar, IA. on November 23, 1943 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. The couple lived in California until Keith was sent overseas during World War II, and then in St. Ansgar, IA. before moving to Norfolk, NE. in 1950. Alice was employed by the Lutheran Community Hospital and Nebraska Public Power District. She was an active member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, their Ladies Aid, Lutheran Community Hospital Service Guild, Meals on Wheels, Food Pantry a charter member of The Valley Vagabonds, and a member of the VFW Auxiliary. For many years she sang in the church choir. Alice is survived by: husband, Keith Roll of Norfolk, NE.; daughters Sylvia and her husband Keith Winter of Wahoo, NE. and Regina Klitzke of Norfolk, NE.; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Alice was preceded in death by: parents and brothers, Henry and Harold Prell. Burial was in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Norfolk, NE.
