Description	:	Alice Malloy, 90, of 310 2nd Avenue SW, State Center, died early Sunday morning, July 24th, at the Grandview Heights Care Center in Marshalltown while in care of the Iowa River Hospice. Her death came peacefully at 1:10 A.M. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, July 26th, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Miller officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5-8:00 P.M. Tuesday. Born Alice Ogan on December 30th, 1914, in Marshalltown, she was the only daughter of Arthur and Lucinda (Nolte) Ogan. She received her education in the Marshalltown Schools and later AIB in Des Moines. On June 15th, 1941, she was united in marriage to Bernard Malloy at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in State Center. They made State Center their home all their married lives. Mrs. Malloy was the first female Justice of the Peace in Marshall County and was employed at the Marshall County Courthouse many years. Later, she was an accountant for Montgomery Wards and then catalog department manager when the store moved to South Center Street. Alice was a member of the St. Joseph's Church in State Center, the ladies society of the church, the Rebekkah Lodge and served as church organist many years. Left to celebrate her life are her daughter Cindy (Dave) Petrie of Marshalltown, son Dr. Randy (Tyrona) Malloy of Lafayette, LA., two grandchildren: Andrea (Mitchell) Storjohann of Marshalltown and Philip (Anna) Petrie of Hornsdale, PA., two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. In death she has rejoined her parents, her husband who died March 7th, 1997, and her two brothers Stanley and Randolph.
