Description	:	Alice May Gallentine, age 90, of Albia formerly of Gilman, passed away April 25, 2011 at the Monroe Care Center in Albia. Alice was born January 4, 1921 to Earl and Henrietta(Hollingsworth)Stowell in Albion, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Albion High School Class of 1939. She also graduated from Marshalltown Nursing College with an R.N. degree. She married Dr. LeRoy Gallentine in Marshalltown on September 18, 1946. Read More	Alice May Gallentine, age 90, of Albia formerly of Gilman, passed away April 25, 2011 at the Monroe Care Center in Albia. Alice was born January 4, 1921 to Earl and Henrietta(Hollingsworth)Stowell in Albion, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Albion High School Class of 1939. She also graduated from Marshalltown Nursing College with an R.N. degree. She married Dr. LeRoy Gallentine in Marshalltown on September 18, 1946. They shared fifty-five years of marriage before LeRoy's passing in 2001. Alice worked as a homemaker most of her life; however, during World War II she was an R.N. at an Army hospital in Chicago. Alice belonged to the Today & Tomorrow Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion. She was a former member of the Gilman United Methodist Church in Gilman, IA and currently attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia. Alice is survived by a daughter, Joyce(Jim)Nelson of Melrose; three sons, Raymond"Ray"Gallentine of Chesterfield, MO, Ron(Jackie)Gallentine of Marietta, GA, and Roger(Diane)Gallentine of Geneva, IL; nine grandchildren, Brian(Kristin)Nelson, Brent(Heather)Nelson, Michael Nelson, Steven(Ashleigh)Nelson, Ross Gallentine, Nathan Gallentine, Emily Gallentine, Ryan Gallentine, and Susan Gallentine; seven great grandchildren, a brother, Lyle(Gini)Stowell of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and frineds. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy; brothers, Bill and Harold; sister, Dorothy; and a daughter-in-law, Pat Gallentine. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Friday April 29, 2011 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia, with Rev. Neil Montz officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marshalltown, beginning at 3 pm. Visitation will be open at 8:30 am until the start of the service on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia. ∼daughter of Earl and Henrietta (Hollingsworth) Stowell
