Description	:	1st wife of Karl Binau Alice Myrtle Hindman Binau was born near Albia, Iowa, April 1, 1890 and died December 22, 1918, at the age of 28 years, 8 months and 21 days. This was during the Spanish flu epidemic. Some of her family in Albia, had the flu, and she went there to help out. Unfortunately, she contracted the disease and died. This was during the Spanish flu epidemic. Some of her family in Albia, had the flu, and she went there to help out. Unfortunately, she contracted the disease and died. Her early life was spent in and near Albia, until the spring of 1910 when she went with her family to Texas, where she lived for about two years, and then came to Allerton, IA. On November 6, 1912, she was united in marriage to Mr. Karl Binau. On March 18, 1905 she united with the Associate Presbyterian church, and a year after her marriage she united with the Methodist Episcopal church, for it was the church of her husband's choice. She was a faithful member of the church, and a genuine Christian woman. She leaves to mourn her death, her devoted husband, father, two sisters, and three brothers, besides a host of friends who will remember her in friendships sincerest affections. Funeral services were held at the Geo. Binau home in Allerton, Thursday afternoon, December 26th, H.D. Glassburn, officiating. Interment was made in the Allerton cemetery.
