Description	:	Mrs Lloyd Abel,descended from the Mayflower passengers Bozrah- Alice Nevada (Rodman) Abel, 86 of Bashon Hill Road, died early Tuesday morning at Liberty Hall convalescent in Colchester.She was born in Escoheag,RI on May 7,1895, the daughter of Arthur and Eva Slocum Rodman.Her mother Eva(Slocum) Rodman traces her ancestors back to the Mayflower through the White's and Barker's lineage and is a direct descendant of Mary Dyer, the Quaker martyr, who in October of 1659, was hanged with thwo men on the Boston Common, where there is now a monument erected to her. She was a member of the Bozrah Congregational Church where she sang in the choir,taught Sunday school and with her husband Lloyd E. Abel and served as secretary and treasurer of the Sunday school for over 25 years.She also was a past president of the Ladies Aid and Missionary Societies of the church. She is a 60 year member of the Bozrah Grange, where she served as past lecturer and also served as chaplain until her recent illness.She was a member of the Thames Valley Rockhounds.She wrote a notebook of poems, one of which was published in the Christian Herald. She was married january 3, 1917, in Lebanon,Ct, and was also a graduate of Lebanon Academy.
