NICHOLSON Mrs. Alice Rae Nicholson passed away Saturday at the Citizens' Hospital. Funeral services were held from the Wilkes Chapel Tuesday afternoon. Interment was made in Red Butte Cemetery beside her husband and son. Mrs. Nicholson was born at Holton, Indiana October 2, 1860 and was 68 years, 11 months, and 12 days old at the time of her passing. She moved to Hutchinson, Kansas, with her parents where she grew to young womanhood and where she was married to W. B. Nicholson fifty-three years ago, June, 1876. This union was blessed by seven sons and one daughter, all but one surviving her. In 1888 Mr. and Mrs. Nicholson and three sons came to Aspen, residing here since that time. Some two years ago, Mrs. Nicholson's husband passed away, since which time she had been gradually failing and three weeks ago was brought to town from her ranch home on Snowmass, where she had lived for the past quarter of a century. From this time she gradually became worse and early last week she was taken from the home of her son, Hod, to the hospital for an operation but was not performed owing to her extreme weakness. Mrs. Nicholson was one of those women and mothers who devoted her entire energy and ambition to her home and the raising of her family, and was loved and admired by all friends for true womanliness and Christian spirit. She is survived by six sons, and one daughter: Sheriff Nicholson, of Aspen: J. P. of California, C. T. and G. W. of Denver, J. D. of Grand Junction, C. C. of Snowmass, and Mrs. O. L.
