Honorary casket bearers will be Jesse Grant, Jeff Loving, Rob Grant, Jared Shatto, Megan Shatto and Geoffrey Grant. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements. Alice Wilma Shatto, the daughter of Arthur and Rosa (Rambath) Schmeling, was born Jan. 11, 1935 in Cylinder. She was a graduate of Arnolds Park High School. On June 27, 1954, she married Lee Shatto in Terril. They lived in the Spencer area, except for the years 1959-1963, at which time they lived in Lake City. They then returned to the Spencer area and lived in Fostoria in the past years. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, the guild, the American Legion Auxilary, and the VFW where she was past president. For 15 years, she did alterations at Hansen's Clothing Store in Spencer and also worked at Stylecraft in Milford for several years. Mrs. Shatto was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister and one brother. Survivors include her husband; three sons and their wives: Steven and Debby Shatto of Topeka, Kan., Randal and Loretta Shatto of Sioux Fall, S.D., and Douglas and Mary Shatto of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter and her husband, Teresa and Scott Loving of Albert City; eight grandchildren, one great-grandson; three brothers: Marvin Schmeling of Fostoria, Virgil Schmeling of Moneta, and Gerald Schmeling of Burnsville, Minn.; one sister Leona Holtz of Everly; other relatives and friends.
