Description	:	Allen Eugene Burdette, 80, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 after a brief illness. Born on June 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Millard and Madeline Burdette of Browningsville, MD. He graduated from Damascus High School class of 1956. Allen was born and raised on tobacco/wormweed farm where he learned the value of hard work at an early age. Throughout his lifetime he held many jobs such as milking cows, testing milk for local farmers, auctioneering and his most recent job for the past 45 years was a successful realtor. He was also a member... Read More	Allen Eugene Burdette, 80, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 after a brief illness. Born on June 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Millard and Madeline Burdette of Browningsville, MD. He graduated from Damascus High School class of 1956. Allen was born and raised on tobacco/wormweed farm where he learned the value of hard work at an early age. Throughout his lifetime he held many jobs such as milking cows, testing milk for local farmers, auctioneering and his most recent job for the past 45 years was a successful realtor. He was also a member of the Browingsville Band where he played the trombone and the tuba for many years. He served in the Air National Guard for 6 years at Andrew Air Force Base. He owned race horses which he ran at the track in Charlestown, WV. He loved to go hunting and play golf with his buddies. Allen also enjoyed watching the Hornets football with his dear friend Joey Watkins. He will surely be missed by his many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Terri Collins, two grandchildren Dillen Edward Huntt and Casey Madeline Huntt and his brother-in-law Donald Campbell. Surviving are his daughters Kim Huntt (David Dove), Dawn Heller (Kevin Plummer), five grandchildren Shannon Bowen, Jason Collins (Amanda), Brenton Heller, Lacy Beane (David Cutsail) and Lane Huntt (Cindy Sheckels), five great grandchildren Michael and Jessica Bowen, Ryder and Parker Cutsail, Jacob Collins. His sister Carol Campbell, Uncle Harold Bennett and Aunt Shelby Jean Hawkins. He will be forever missed by the love of his life for the past 11 years, Julie Myers. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on July 25, 2018 at the American Legion in Damascus at 11:00 AM. Pastor Clark Baisden will officiate. A private Interment will follow at the Bethesda Methodist Church in Damascus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Lorien Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Airy, MD and/or Difference Makers Church, 11210 Bethesda Church Rd, Damascus, MD 20872. Published Online in The Frederick News-Post on July 19, 2018
