Burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery. Allen was born August 12, 1936, at Odell, NE, to Alvie and Freda (Alvers) Oltman. He grew up in the Barneston area and had farmed in the Oketo area most his life. Allen served in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Eileen Fisher. Allen and Eileen recently moved to Marysville. He was well known for his love of music and played in a dance band for most of his adult life. Allen loved playing his saxophone. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Oketo #25, Arab Shrine Temple of Topeka, and several other area organizations and served as a board member on many. Farming and family were extremely important to him and he planted his last crop in October. He enjoyed making people happy with his music and conversations. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Dennis Oltman. Survivors include his wife, Eileen; children, Valerie Oltman, Marysville, and Tava (David) Sowers, Auburn Hills, MI; sisters-in-law, Connie (Kent) Adee, Long Island, NY, and MaraLou (Jeff) Rhodes, Topeka; grandson, Brady Sowers; and seven nieces and nephews. A memorial fund is established and contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
