Description	:	Allen Mitchell Allen Rolston Mitchell, 83, of Bloomfield, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 6:10 a.m. April 20, 2018 at the Bloomfield Care Center. He was born December 30, 1934 in Ottumwa to Dean and Catherine Rolston Mitchell. He married Phyllis Luke on June 13, 1965 and she preceded him in death on August 8, 1979. He married Nancy J. Bales on December 13, 1981. Allen earned a B.A. and a M.A. from Northeast Missouri State University and taught at Cardinal Junior High. He retired from Everco in 1996. Surviving is his wife, Nancy; children, Russell Bales of Floris, Phyllis Ford of Bloomfield Rachel (Roger) Pettit of Bloomfield and Laurie (Brian) Hopkins of Floris; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and expecting his first great-great-grandson in August; 2 sisters, Charlotte Mark of Wellsburg and Judith Holcomb of Florence, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bruce Bales and son-in-law, Tom Ford. His body has been cremated. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Christ's Church with David Eaton officiating. Inurnment will be in Shaul Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Woodward State Hospital.
