Description	:	Allen W. Wheeler Allen Webber Wheeler, 84, of Montezuma, died Sunday, May 20, 2001 at Grinnell Regional Medical Center in Grinnell. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, May 23, 2001 at Watts Funeral Home, Montezuma. Rev. H. Burr Bryant of the United Methodist Church officiated. Interment was in the Jackson Township Cemetery, Montezuma. Aztec Lodge No. 238 performed a Knight of Pythias Service and the members of the Blakley-Stevens Legion Post No. 169 and V.F.W. He served his country in the Air Force during World War II. On December 16, 1945 he was united in marriage with Paulie F. Smith at Montezuma. To this union three children were born. They farmed all their life near Montezuma until they retired ad moved into town. He was a member of the Montezuma United Methodist Church, Knights of Pythias, Aztec Lodge No. 238, the Blakley-Stevens American post No. 169 and V.F.W. Post No. 8876. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Bernice Alexander, Edna Womeldorf and Eleanor Mason and a brother, Glen. Allen is survived by his wife, Pauline and their family; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Alice Keen of DeWitt, IA, and Irene McFerren of Rockford, IL.
